Descent 3 3DSL rip crash

My problem is simple: save games loading don't work anymore after level 5. So if you make a quicksave at level 5 you can't restore it. But if you finish this level at level 6 the problem carry on.

Has anyone the same problem?

What is the rip version? Maybe you should patch it?

I patched it to 1.5 version. This patch solves the keyboard problem with non-english Windows versions but maybe it adds the problem explained.

Anyway I grabbed the ISOs so soon I will upload at least a movies addon and maybe another custom rip without that problem.

Yeah 1.5 is unofficial and unsupported, so god only knows if it contains new bugs. Maybe 1.4 NOCD would work? Sometimes downgrading helps

No, is an strange crash. It says something like 'line xx illegal command' and after that the current game is aborted. The game doesn't crash but you can't load any previous savegame. And yes, I have tried 1.4 nocd. Maybe the savegames are corrupt. But with ISO version I can save and load my savegames without problem.

I need to know if this is a rip problem just for uploading another working rip (I made my own rip, prepared for being uploaded, but making testings with FileMasker I override the rip .uha file by mistake

. I have to do the whole rip process again).

Well, I have not decided yet if upload another rip + movies or ISOS.

Do you (or anyone) have beaten the game playing the rip?

Never played this game.. But I just downloaded the 3DSL rip (+ fix) in order to compare it with the original OGN release (+ the 100% fix by the same group) and here's what I found:
- no reg file in the 3DSL rip,
- fix not applied,
- a bunch of .TMP files in the custom/cache dir of the 3DSL rip which were not in the original rip.

You'll find here the reg file and the so-called "100% fix":

According to the nfo, it shouldn't solve your problem but who knows..
At least, I would like to know if it's a working fix or the kind of fix which fixes nothing

Thanks zoe, but I have decided to upload ISOS. After erasing useless content I have the two cd's compressed in about 650 MB. A rip without loosing music and any sounds is about 254 MB, and all movies compressed (it's impossible downsampling them) are 330MB.

Better this than a buggy rip
