IMHO:
I like the idea of how people organise and defeat big awsome looking fantasy enemies in a community. But the point i dont play it is because of two reasons:
1) its far too commercialised and theres no real mission which can be
finished and the world is just two crowded and the story a bit to simple.
I mean come on, the only real enemies are the big end-bosses?
Blizzard must be kidd´ing!
2) it glues people to their chairs their whole life without having done
anything productive...neither in real-life nor in WoW world.
Thats allmost the same reason why i dont take drugs(*)...cause they make me suffer.
(*) okay,apart from sex,rock´n roll,alcohol and chocolate
I dont mean its bad but for me its kind of boring cause i miss the thrill to fight/die and survive. Its similar to playing action and FPS games with a God mod trainer....you just can´t die....theres a wizard/merlin around you all the time who brings you back to life. But the game is very impressive though and the family touch is kind of very nice.Thats why voted for "nice", too.

I don't like MMORPG games. Heck! I hate RPG games actualy. I played Diablo and Diablo 2 for the hack&slash that was.
MMORPG genre seem to me like the bad music. More people listen to that crap and you feel left aside with your prefereneces in the field of music.
ACTION, FPS babay! All the way! Shoot and gore! Maddnes and quick reflexes.
Reading allll those pesky lines of text bore the hell out of me. "Why am I playing this RPG game? When do I get to pwn ppl? If I want to read something I buy a book. And it's gonna be 100 times much interesting thaty the crap the nonplaying characteres are mumbling".

LOL - Well I love MMORPG's - I played Tibia for 18 months -- I don't play WOW because of the COST to me and the money I'd spend on WOW would prevent me from adding to my Collection of games that has overrun my house in every corner also it would prevented me from buying OBLIVION and after spending 147 hours making a lvl 33 thief my wife doesn't see me now as it is so if I played WOW it would be a devorce in the making hehehehehe

that smiley looks familiar. hmmm .. I think it's your mom complaining about her offspings.AraC wrote:FPS's are nice, but... I think you never read 'anything' !
I SAID I PREFFER READING A <i>fudge</i> BOOK THAN READING THE LAME SCRIPTS MADE BY PRETENTIOUS FAT GEEKS HIRED BY SOME OTHER GAY FAT GAME PRODUCERS.
Book = knowledge, art. GOOD THINGS
RPG Script = literar sodomy with lots of spilling shit. In a word : gay!
It's my opinion and I don't need a kiddo to use an offensive language on it. 'Cose I can also get offensve. Brutal actually.

I actually succombed to playing a similar MMORPG, called Guild Wars: one time fee for buying the game & no monthly contribution.
Though I suffered from the same opinion Hellsgate described, I just tried it out a bit & found I do like RPGs, yet not for the story, but for the fighting and leveling. Basically I never read stuff and skip cutscenes just to get to the fighting for more experience.
I think I continue playing that game because MMORPG games allow for a pretty intensive coop player-vs-enemy play, adjusting your party to specific wishes. Since FPSes nowadays seem to lack fun story-driven coop play vs AI enemies, I turned to Guild Wars. Plus, I managed to get an account for just 10 euros, which is rather cheap for a game spanning an enourmous world and tonnes of gameplay hours..
A MMOFPS would be cool though!
