Blood: Censored Edition from Walmart?

When glancing through Wikipedia, I found this article on Blood 3D. What struck me however, was the mention of an alleged censored version of the game, which was apparently sold at Walmart.

I have been unable to find any information about this version, therefore I would assume this version would either not exist at all, or perhaps come in an alternative box, so as not to appear too gory on shelves or something.

Would anyone be able to shed some light on this matter?

i cant believe that games get censored or lets say get selled censored in the usa

and if its weird i think

Yes. There was a "Blood - bloodless version". And this is actually not just a rumor - it did exist. There was even a patch from Monolith to remove the censorship from "bloodless Blood".

Yep.. have heared of that version before. There was some information on the official Blood homepage while ago, if I'm not mistaken.

So it wasn't just the plain original Blood with a parental lock enabled by default?

Apparently walmart wouldn't sell the game unless they removed the blood, so...

OMFG This is a collection ^^

I'm from Germany so I spent some kind of vacation in NY for a week !

Some night I was walking through some streets and saw a 99cent store.
I noticed the Blood Plasma pack in their window... so the next day I entered the store and looked around ...

Only BPP Add-ons but... I bought 5 of them ^^ and imported them to Germany

.... because I couldn't carry more in my bag... had to buy more gory game in NY

Damn but this collection is really godlike...

I had to say that because I'm one of the biggest BlooD fans !

I know all secrets and hit the whole game in less than 30mins...

So I wanted to buy all addons and original gameparts later but the monolithshop closed so far

Damn...

And if I remember correctly Blood was censored in Australia also but I think the biggest insult to us Ozzies was the fact they Censored DUKE NUKEM 3D - -uggghhhhhhh what's the world coming to :/

Blood or DukeN weren't really censored... there was just a factory password on the perental lock ! So that you couldn't see gore and blood effects... but bloody corpses. i.e. The Cultists bloody corpse.

Censore a game called "Blood"

strange... who could do that
