Nocturne Resolution problem

Hi all I am having nocturne difficulties.

System
Athlon 64 3200+
ATI X1800XT 512mb
1gb ddr 433 RAM
Refresh rate 75hz
Ac97 sound

I can only run the game in the 640x480 resolution although my card and all resolutions up to 1280x1024 are listed in game. When i try any other but 640x480 i get a blue screen of death saying atgui3.dll caused error.

Any help is appreciated
