Deus Ex Fix Corrupt?

Post by Rage_3k_Moiz »

I downloaded Deus Ex + the speech and music addons. I tried to download the fix but after it finished downloading, I unrared it and the .ace file inside did not open. It gave an error that said the archive was corrupted. I decided to ignore this and continue playing, until I reached the NYC Hell's Kitchen level (Level 4). I don't know what to do. It was working fine until I reached this part where I get out of the hotel and there are UNATCO people inside it hunting for me. I consulted some FAQs, which say that enemies spawn in the streets but I can't seem to see any?! I assume the level 5 problem the fix nfo refers to is this one. Can anyone help me get a working fix, since I tried downloading the fix again before typing this out, and it still didn't work.

Basically you should never just ignore those CRC errors ;) On most uploads there's some .sfv file in either the first or last briefcase (speaking of YBC uploads) or just a link to an sfv file. Programs like QuickSFV, Total Commander etc. can check the files for CRC errors with an sfv file. You'll quickly see which files you'll have to download again.

Should sort things out I guess.

Sorry if I sound thick-headed but can u explain yourself? The game worked perfectly until this problem occured. The fix file is the one not working, the game works fine otherwise. Try downloading it yourself and see.

Yes, I've already downloaded it three times now, still no luck.:(
Is there any other way I could get it, such as another website or through MSN or something?

I still say try with WinAce...in past I had instances of ace files not extracting properly when using WinRar on them.

the ace problem in latest winrar is to do with the current unace.dll, not winrar itself, i reported this, along with the age old arj problem, the dev fixed the arj problem for me but ace isn't winrars doing, certain old aces will not extract with current winace or winrar.

WinRAR ARJ Fix (Should be in winrar 3.7 when its released) - http://d.turboupload.com/d/1137649/WinR ... x.rar.html

Put the file in Program Files\WinRAR\Formats and all the oldie arj multi file archives will now work fine, as for ace problem, report it to winace and send them an example file.

If you want to upload a game for the site, make a cd image, compress it in parts in order to up it to a free web filehost like the ones we use. Or if i's a rip, just compress the files into bigger chunks for easier uploading.
Any contribution is appreciated. :)

Come2store has limit of 30Mb files while some others have up to 100Mb or more. It should say what the size limit is at each site.
There's big list of hosts here - http://www.legendsworld.net/phpBB/viewt ... s&start=15
