SHAME ON US? Oh, please! HL is only good as a modding platform, various mods and addons RULE in terms of multiplayer, but as a single-player game, HL sucks IMO. I mean both HL1 and HL2. I don't care, how much GOTY awards did they get - I am certainly no fan of this series. I prefer Sin over HL.

Do not befoul the name and reputation of HL1

The stuff you say is good about HL is why all the CS and other multiplayer noobs like HL. A true HL 1 fan loves th single player and mission packs, hates high definition textures, thinks HL 2 and episode 1 are sold out, comercialized pieces of crap

At least thats what i think, and i cinsider mysefl a HL 1 fanatic. I even do Half-Life speed runs

Yeah, true FPS fan wouldn't even look at someone who plays q2 with a... gamepad. More than consoles I blame kids who says " unreal sux, coz it didn't have 1024x1024 32bit bumpmapped HDR and whatever textures ", so developers give them games that are good looking but no fun Anyways' BioShock looks like a light at the end of a tunnel (system shock 2 creators are serious guys I think ).
