yes i agree that you should name what game is about, just for an example i will mention the game vampire diaries which needs to be installed by the first cd rom drive letter without that the game doesn't detect the cd and a message that you don't have the cd in appears.
Well i finally managed to install and play it by changing from windows options the drive letters and by reserving for daemon tools the first cd -rom drive letter.

lol you cant say that every game will work without the CD / DVD in drive just because you have the image mounted in DT with all emu on......
especially newer games that use actual securom or starforce
protection cant be tricked that easy.......you may need an black listing tool also
that blacklists DT`s mount process
as these newer protections check for any CD / DVD emulation software
i once had a game that i could only play if i deinstalled DT`s
well however, you can also mount an IMAGE of the game you want to play and then just unplug your DVD drive`s power cable`s (should be 2)
(the thick ones at the back of the DRIVE with just a few pins)
using this method u dont need any blacklisting tool
that worked very well for me cause my old machine was always opened
i could easily do that...........
anyways not so my new one.......
but,
sure this works for older titles as their protection is outdated and can be easy emulated with DT

its the only thing that'll allow you to use SecuRom 7.xxxx protected games. Useless against StarForce, though. If FSW is clone - definitly will help you.

Just unpack to your DT folder.

It was common method for StarForce 3. But a) as I heard, it is not issue anymore for newest DT and b) it is not issue at all after last SF3 updates. I dunno why, but after I install it from official Starforce site, all this "no play without unplugging" games suddenly began to work under DT. %)hurenBock wrote:well however, you can also mount an IMAGE of the game you want to play and then just unplug your DVD drive`s power cable`s (should be 2)

But it is already Star Force 5 on newest games...
