Rapidshare likes cats now

Post by freakboy »

Rapidshare likes cats now. Rofl what a nasty crap. You know, it would be a good idea to report all the RS warez links found on google and then to make it a totaly unreliable warez host...

Seems this was a onetime only.

The premium account is already in use with another ip.
It looks like this account is used on different computers at the same time.

Please try again later.

RS is totally useless now...they limit the speed to 62 kbps for free users...the good news is that you don't need to wait anymore between downloads....i hope this is the end of rs.com :(

62 kps is 3 times my absolute fastest download speed. I've been downloading Timeshift from a FTP so the speed is fairly constant. 2.68GBs it's been downloading for 45 hours... and there are still 6 more to go.

Not exactly. They've limited it to 500kbps which seems quite fair compared to "unlimited" free hosts like I only get half of that at 4shared.

Info is here

I think he meant 62 KB/s.
500 kbps = 62.5 kB/s

Before, free users had something along the lines of 20000 kbps (we found that out by comparing a free and a Premium download from our university's connection). I always said that it is economically stupid to have a limit that is much above what most people can even download. But 500 kbps, that's almost an insult.

I loved the way I could download from RS.com before. Download 100MB with maximum speed, restart my ADSL connection, 30sec later download the next 100MB at full speed with a new IP...

Still, I'm thinking about opening a Premium account soon... prices seem more reasonable now that you can download 10GB per day (it was 5GB per day before). Or, considering that RS.com headquarters are in a town nearby, I might fetch my baseball bat and go get a FREE Premium account :D

I love(d) RapidShare. If you like music, there's nothing like Googling:
+"The CD I am looking for" +rapidshare
It's amazing how much stuff you will find, it's far more than I ever found on eMule, Torrents, and What.cd combined.

That's the new system - your speed is at a maximum of 500kbps, but in return you do not have to wait after downloading big files anymore.

However, the 45 seconds waiting time is still there. I haven't seen an Happy Hour since the system changed, but maybe there was one when you didn't get the countdown.
