Fascination CD Memory problem [SOLVED]

Post by Talkie »

Hello,

please ban or lock this thread if it is illegal, because I'm about to link
a place where you can get the game I am talking about: It is the CD Talkie version of Fascination (Coktel, 1992) and you can find it at the bottom of the first post in this thread:

http://www.aitpast.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... 46bc9565d9

So I just got this thing, and used Daemon than IMGMOUNT within Dosbox (version 0.72) and I still get a message when I open the game that it is missing memory. In IMGMOUNT it says that it needs 20kb and that I have 0 kbytes. I tried shifting things up (the EMS as false) but to no avail.
Here is how to IMGMOUNT the game in Dosbox (0.70 and above only, otherwise you get MSCD driver errors).

Put the Bin and Cue files in a folder named FASCINCD in C:\FASCINCD

Than at the end of the Config file in the Dosbox folder, write this
(of course the first two lines are already there):
[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.
imgmount d c:\FASCINCD\fascination.cue -t iso
d:
go

This is what gets me the 0 kbytes problem.
If I try:

imgmount d c:\FASCINCD\fascination.cue -t iso
d:
install

It says there is no empty space on CD. I'm very anew to these sort of memory configuration problems, so I wondered if someone could explain me in the simpliest way possible what I should do to make this thing work? It seems the game is checking something else in my computer that tells them there is no space for it.

Cheers,

Hello,

thanks for the reply. When I try what you said, I get "The image must be
on a host or a local drive." It's the same wrether I write it at
the D:\> or Z:\> prompt. If I try to manually write the sentance as above,
including the folder, it says "driver already mounted at that letter"
(which I expected).

When I get the 0 kbyte, I must say that it is within the game.
I mean that the game starts off but sends me the message.
When it is mounted in Daemon, the message is that I've
only got -20535 kbytes and that's not enough for the 20 kbytes
required (poor me).

Cheers,

Talkie,

your

posts

are very

stretched.

Please make them more condense, it's very hard to read those messages the way you write them now :(. That goes for hurenBock too.

Solved.

After installing the bin and cue in Fascincd folder, you have to write:

imgmount d "c:\FASCINCD\fascination.cue" -t iso
d:
install

Than erase and write:

imgmount d "c:\FASCINCD\fascination.cue" -t iso
c:
cd fascin
go

It's just the stupid quotes that were missing, haha.
