you don't know it Virgil ? Ati's are famous for they one day drivers lol , they release for each game a different set of drivers , so that those new/old games could work or even start on a AMD Ati gfx ... and then its "oh i need to install 8.4 to run this and then re-install back 6.5 to run this"

I though he wants to make a new software blog here. Yes, I know about ATI drivers quality. I've bought Radeon 3850 AGP and for a long time couldn't found a suitable driver, besides one on OEM disk(which was dated january?). Not sure, if situation changed now.

my expierience is that they release every month a new driver lol.....

but hey i think its alright cause that shows that they care much about support....

and surely its always good to have the latest GPU driver installed...
i check the site every week.....

and its no big deal to uninstall the old driver and install the new one just 2 reboots and a few clicks....

the only bad thing with ATI graphic drivers is that there seems to be some kind of bug.....

a few months ago i was setting up my system completly new.... (FORMAT C, OS REINSTALL etc )

and then i was about to intall the ATI DRIVER... i wanted the driver to unpack to my MISC drive thats D:

and somehow he didnt unpacked the files to that dir..... idk why.....
so i jused the default dir

C:/ATI/SUPPORT

and it worked fine......

What really bothers me is that I have this "Zero display service error" during the installation and it pisses me off, because i dont know whats causing this.

i once had a similar error..... and i wouldnt be surprised when its the same one.....

a few months ago i installed v.8.4 and during installation i got an error....
that really pissed me off too.....

dont know if you already tried that but letting the driver extract in the default dir worked for me...
