Outcast:some problems

hi all.i got the outcast rip,(without adding teh extar speech and videos,since the links doesn't work)and i got this problem.im using win xp sp2.after i extract everything,i launch LOADER.exe and the game starts.it runs fine..except its on a little window...big like a playing card..so i went out,and changed resolutio netc..andnext time i ra nthe game again..it crashed.i reinstalled and didnt touched nothing and it was fine again,except that usual postacrd resolution...so i tinkered in the options ONLY with the resolution..same problem.i found a patch online but it worked only for the ful lcd version of the game since it asks cd 1 to be inserted.any help?
