Shit like this is discouraging and sad. We are indeed sorry to hear that well-known mirror and download web site FileFront is going to suspend operations, apparently due to present economic conditions. There's a message on the FileFront HP, which reads: We are suspending FileFront site operations indefinitely on March 30.
Site owner Ziff Davis Media recently made a deal with UGO, selling a bunch of gaming web sites, including 1UP.com, Mycheats.com, GameVideos.com and Gametab.com. The agreement also resulted in the closure of print mag EGM. Mind you, word has it that UGO was uninterested in FileFront (thanks Shack).
We would like to give a warm thank you to all of you who have been part of the FileFront communities we have built together, says FileFront's farewell message. Your support has had a meaningful impact for all of us here at FileFront. Again, we want to give you a sincere 'thank you' for your support over the years and wish you all the very best.
Yeah, we sure will miss you guys. Man, another one bites the dust. It's a damn shame. They were a top download site.
