JDownloader Problems
Hello,
This is general-technical so I don't really know what thread it belongs, but,
this morning JDownloader just gives me Offline links for 4Shared in Linkgrabbers (all stuff I'm able to get manually). I desinstalled an re-installed with same results. I really think this is a general problem and
mentioning which link would be redundant (I can't all get them manually).
Is there a solution for this? Does your JDownloader works?
Thanks for the help,

For the time being 4Shared team beats the $hit out of jDownloader teamScaryfun wrote:Yeah, file storage sites change their link protection every so often but jDownloader will eventually come up with a workaround.

But they can't beat me: I've managed to download manually all the parts (745 of them) of the Operation: Eco-Nightmare's split archive. It was the Operation: Download-Nightmare for me

Does anyone know how long generally JDownloader takes to update their engine (makes it work with 4Shared)?
I saw that they update that specific plugin about once a month. But if they take 2 weeks eeach time for an update, that means that it functions only about 1 or 2 weeks every month. Is that it?
I remember having problem with JDownloader about a year ago, but I eventually dropped it, because it never worked for over a month. I only restarted using J this past week, and here I am.
Thanks,

As an alternative, you can use FreeRapid:
It works fine with 4shared (after updating the plugins) at the moment, you only need to copy the 4shared folder URL and that's it.
Code: Select all

Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit and Trey was lazy to check the number of files by himselfScaryfun wrote:Wahaha, there's only 35 parts.Trey wrote:745?!

With five minutes pause between each two downloads *grrr*Scaryfun wrote:Maybe it felt like 745.

I suggest that you actually read the JDownloader forum. There you can see if the problem is being worked on or if it is fixed. If something is fixed then you can expect it in the next plugin update. Which occur every 1-6 weeks. (Remember that JDownloader is a hobby project, the coders have other things to do than check and fix plugins every day)Talkie wrote:Does anyone know how long generally JDownloader takes to update their engine (makes it work with 4Shared)?

Some people are like slinkies... They're not really good for much but they do bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
FreeRapid works like a charm! (at least for the time being).
Thanks for the suggestion! It doesn't reach the ones with
passwords, but we'll see about JDownloader then.
I'm not critical of JDownloader, I know this isn't their fault.
I'm only assessing th situation that download managers
function intermitttently.

I just tried the game 9 (nine) & got the same result, thought it was me until I read this post
http://www.4shared.com/dir/0LDeafPp/NINE.html
however, I discovered something interesting, there are 9 parts for the game 9 (teehee giggle giggle 9 parts in NINE) and it seemed that all of the even numbered ( 2 4 6 8 ) files would download immediately & simultaneously while the odd numbered files were given a 248 sec waiting time, anybody else seen any similar 4 shared behavior?
