Neuro (2006) 3-CD-version starforce problems

Hello!

After trying nearly every method (sfn, starfuck etc., even unplugging the physical cd-drives) I'm pretty desperate. The available no-cd doesn't work for me. Anyone with suggestions or help, please?

My sytem XP SP3 x86, Asrock 4Core-Dual SATA, 4(3) GB RAM, ATI 5660, SB Audigy, CD-emulation with newest version of D-Tools Pro advanced

First, it's one terrible game, a total waste of time. Second, sometimes this protection is just that bad on some systems. You simply can't play even with the physical CD in your drive. Just use that nocd.

Have you tried running the cracked exe in different compatibility modes?

I tried the no-cd and even loaded it into a debugger, which led me to the conclusion, that the crack might be faulty as it checks out during the loading of dinput8.dll. Anyway, I'll try every compatibility-mode and report back. Thanks for the suggestion. As for the quality of the game, I'm just curious and basically I like these Russian underdog games...

So I tried every compatibility-mode in XP and even Win7 to no avail. Does this game need a special version of direct-x or physx?

Well, I'm stumped. It sounds like you know what you're doing. I just suggested the compatibility modes, becasue... it's worth a shot, sometimes odd combinations will work for you. Are there any redistributes on the game disc?

It appears the crack isn't for this version. There's no working crack for the russian edition. Just letting you know. Play with the image.

The crack is identical with the mentioned link. I also assume it's the wrong crack (maybe for the dvd-version?). Playing with the image is what I tried, but it didn't work, as mentioned in my first post. Is there anyone out there with the dvd-version and who could up that? I just found a torrent with no seeds. Thank you in advance.

But he didn't mention how this is affected to him.

PhysX is not necessary.

I tried both suggested options. Using the crack, the game exits with an error message during start-up. The image doesn't work either, as starforce does not recognize it as original, even if I unplug all physical CD-drives. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. I might try getting a used copy next time I visit Russia or the Ukraine.
