Tonic Trouble: No-CD and Windows Vista/7 help

Post by JeffCharizardFlame »

So after having downloaded Egon68's Tonic Trouble Retail ISO, I finally found out that there is not a no cd crack for it from what I could see. And to make things worse, I read that the game will not open on anything newer than XP. Is this true, and if so, why and would it be possible to figure out a workaround besides using a virtual machine? (I do not have enough space for a VM just to play one game.)

If it's a clone it shouldn't need a crack. But otherwise there may be a way to run it in a newer OS (other than a VM), but it'll take testing and research to say for sure.

Looks like the surefire way is VMWare Workstation and a WinXP installation in that. Or you could get a N64 emulator such as Project 64 and the Tonic Trouble rom. Just so you know I tried to get my CloneCD copy to work in Win7x64 and it also does not work for me. The emulator way looks like the better choice for your hdd space situation.

Alright, I already have the Tonic Trouble rom, so it's not that big a deal. Thanks for the assistance though. ^^'
