Chameleon (2005) Win 10 Topic is solved

Anyone can help run Chameleon (2005) on Win 10? Should be simlar problems on Win 8.

Game instaled, cracked , updated "Chameleon EnUpdate v1.4".
Firs time trying run game, says need to restart to complete instalation (i understand installing "StarForce Protection VFS" driver in system32).
"StarForce Protection VFS" is old version for Win 95 - Win XP.
Due to old driver incompatibility system messed up, even not starting Windows, automatic repair not helping.

FIX FOR THAT:

On Rercovery screen go to: [Advanced options]->[Troubleshoot]->[Advanced options]->[Startup Settings] ... [Restart]

after restart: [Advanced options]->[Troubleshoot]->[Advanced options]->[Command Prompt]

In cmd find on which disk is "windows" (cause now could mount in diffrent letter, egsample:
c:
dir
{and you see folders, including "Windows"}

then continue enter commands:
cd c:\windows\system32\config
md backup
copy *.* backup
cd regback
copy *.* ..
exit

[Turn off your PC] and PC starts restarting

So, old driver not gonna work..
Then i just downloaded and updated to new "StarForce Protection VFS" driver version 5.5, wich add support to Win Vista - Win 10.

But game not working (trying all Windows compatibility versions on .exe):


Anyone interested to run this game on Win 10 (probably same problem on Win 8 )? Any ideas where to dig?

Are you using the English translation or English update patches we have on the game page? If so, it works for most people or try the new one created by annoyment at the end of the thread.

Update is just english tranlation from this site (not game patch).

Also as many old games on Win 10 its just maximized window with borders (not full screen), so plus need to use WindowedBorderlessGaming.

Sorry for taking this long to answer, I have just now gotten the time to verify that. Beat the Czech version (as well as the Polish one some time ago, easy peasy even on hard, and the game is still nice BTW ) and checked the manual. And no, the player character cannot ever get lasers for his weapons (or as any kind of equipment), only silencers/surpressors & scopes/optics (played it in vanilla only, didn't bother modding/hacking). Only the SAS in Belfast has them, 'cause some MGS homage doesn't hurt me thinks
