Suffice to say, the game doesnt work natively on my win764 machine, which is funny since Arabian Nights, a game made by the same company and uses the same engine works "out of the box" for me, i suppose Asghan and older version of the engine or something that causes massive problems.
Some stuff i have tried:
-Game doesnt even launch natively.
-Tried nGlide, which supposedly works and makes Asghan 100% playable, problem is, it seems that only works for winxp, on win7 i get a black screens and crash.
-Tried Glidos, doesnt even launch the game
-Couldnt get Directx mode to work at all.
On a WinXp VM:
-Native 3dfx mode, the intro cutscene works! woo!

-Tried nGlide, same as native, except the image gets frozen on (presumably) its first frame, altho this time i can see that the game is working on the background (sounds, movement etc are playing and i can die). If i change nGlide's emulation options to emulate directx, i can get a black screen with only some textures showing up (such as the menu's description letters), but instead of freezing in the first frame, its all black screen.
-Asghan actually works natively on DirectX mode on the winxp Virtual Machine, but as with many other games (like Delta Force 2), it heavily glitches out everywhere (3d models get super imposed by water and other effects), from what i record of more than 10 years ago, this problem was inherent of the game, so this should be working "as intented", but then again, nobody used this mode back then.
I tried a win98 VM, but i cant get either sound or video drivers to work, so the game (for the first time) gave me some accurate error reports, with both missing audio & video renderers.
If i use software renderer, the game launches in a horribly low resolution (with no sound) and ontop of that it randomly (either when loading or in-game) gives me these weird "red screen errors" saying it couldnt load XXXXX file (the file name varies, but it seems to be related to texture files).
Anyone can help me with getting this old game running?
EDIT:
I also tried the pre-configured VMs posted here on this thread, but sadly it seems they dont support (or i am doing something wrong) 3d accelarated games.
