The ISO setup didnt really work for me due to a compatiblity issue between Windows 64bit and the default installation folder used. Game complained about missing files on launch.
Unfortunately the Full rip of the game is in the now legacy .ace format, I had to install an old version of winace and extract the needed files.

Winrar appears to have dropped support due to a security issue. There is also peazip which claims to have support trough an extension, but I couldnt get the files to extract even after installing the plugin in question.
Game is working as intended now.
Game may prompt you to install DirectPlay on first launch, after windows have installed that feature it should work.

And by any chance the installer should not be run via WineVDM? - https://github.com/otya128/winevdm (new version - https://ci.appveyor.com/project/otya128/winevdm) Maybe then it would work

No, I just confirmed that it is an 32-bit installer.
It is quite a small game, so you are free to try the installer yourself and see if you have a similar issue.
