Heyyy - can confirm now that it happened to me; 4shared deletes items and/or folder contents without user's consent nor warning beforehand (plus doesn't free up user's alloted space after committing said interventions)
Alas, i'll have to also request (and pray that) this bugger got preserved on usenet or by any other user, since the web got dried up Afterwards I'll begin migrating elsewhere (doing a reup of this along the way) - lovely
