Just though I should post this just in case anyone else have the same issue.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\
Create a 32-Bit-DWORD entry RequireSecuritySignature with a 0 value in order to fix it.

While you might be able to change it on the NAS side of things, not all equipment have easy accessible settings for it.. Guess they are enforcing some sort of encryption by default which slow some NAS on the market down to a crawl

I suppose some of those settings might make sense in a corporate environment, it seems kinda overkill for a home network.
