UPDATED Info based on current findings. Other posts should not be considered to be instructions.

Uninstall everything related to physx.

Install PhysX_8.10.13_SystemSoftware.

Keep in mind that installing the latest Physx or Physx legacy again will break it.

I have not found a way to install this version of Physx alongside Physx legacy and latest. My previously mentioned workaround (see second post) did not work as I thought. Tried with an old benchmark (https://www.geeks3d.com/20130308/fluidm ... -download/) and Physx was not properly accelerated.

As it stands I can only confirm that this works on Windows 10 64-bit

Older operating systems may behave differently. Other installed software may cause crashes. It should work on a fresh Windows 10 install with just this game installed and the latest Nvidia driver (without Physx selected during installation) 431.18 as of this writing.

So my recommendation is to uninstall PhysX_8.10.13_SystemSoftware, and install Physx Legacy and Physx latest when you are done playing this game, as other games require those to work.

I have now done some troubleshooting and for me the game crashes with anything newer than the 2.8.1 files from Physx 9.12 .

Replace 2.8.1 C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Engine with the ones in the above link. Take backup of existing folder in case some other games don't work with it.

Works with Physx Legacy and PhysX 9.19 installed.

I'm not sure if it is properly Physx GPU accelerated now, but at least the game work.

Found a solution.

Looks like Physx Legacy don't work on this particular title. Uninstall everything related to physx, might require the original installer if you can't uninstall it from add or remove programs. Install the one that came with the game.

Then work your way up again, installing the earliest version of physx first.

While 9.13 in theory should cover 9.12, i don't think that is really the case.

Uninstall everything related to physx

Install PhysX_8.10.13_SystemSoftware, copy https://mega.nz/#!hfBXmKxA!Lxvfxp4bi67z ... MPwcUaQVqE (Latest physx files) to C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX.

Keep in mind that installing the latest physx again will probably break it.
Checked with a game that required Physx Legacy (Medal of Honor) and a new game Metro Exodus which I believe requires physx. Everything is in order.

No, doesnt work as I thought, just tried a Physx benchmark and the benchmark is not properly accelerated using this method.

So i would advise completing the game while you just have PhysX_8.10.13_SystemSoftware installed, and then installing the latest physx and optionally physx legacy for older games.

Have you tried just having PhysX_8.10.13_SystemSoftware installed? As installing later versions of physx uninstalls it again. Causing the game to crash to desktop again. (See workaround)

Have you tried my gamersgate release which is now on the site? That one includes visual runtime files in the game folder.

PhysX_8.10.13_SystemSoftware i have only have that installed i installed the vcredist 2005 x86 thing still wont work always gives the same error for me i am not running intel gpu i use my main gpu

Have you tried installing the game to the C drive? Doubt it will work.

I just dont get why it isnt working unless there is a problem with corrupt system files.

I don't know exactly what fixed it, but copying d3d9.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d.dll in the game's executable directory seems to have fixed it

That just crashes the game and bring back the error OP had as soon as you shoot. There are a lot of different versions though, so one might work. It is a DirectX wrapper, basically takes DirectX games and run them in OpenGL and now Vulkan.

I have not found a wrapper version that works for this as I didn't need it. You could try updating your DirectX with the version included in the gamergate release.

Run it again and it will overwrite any corrupt files.

Playing the game on my Intel laptop in which I delibrately choose to ignore the Physx which comes with the game, only the PhysxLoader.dll was needed. I have not installed any other Physx system software on this laptop prior.

Without it the game would crash.

I have now included just the "RenderSystem_Direct3D9.dll" and Physxloader.dll in my google drive, as those seems to be the files that are strictly needed for the game.

To summarize

Start the installation
Cancel the physx 8.10 installation
Apply PhysxLoader.dll and RenderSystem_Direct3D9.dll which from the Russian description seems to improve frametimes/performance. Physxloader.dll is the file that is absolutely needed.
Try changing you keyboard layout to English in Windows if you are getting crashes right after the videos.
