I just downloaded Carnivores and the main menu had sound the first time I ran it, but as soon as I went into the game, it started to repeat, like a wheel going around, hitting something on each revolution. I quit the game then reloaded and it hasn't had sound since. I even rebooted and still nothing. I deleted the game's directory, then unpacked a fresh copy. Silence.
I have an original of Carnivores II and the sound works fine on my system. I wanted to play the first game just to see the different areas, but it's not much fun playing in silence.
Also, I did check with other programs and my system's sound is working fine, it just doesn't work with Carnivores.
For the record, I'm using Windows 98 and my motherboard has onboard Intel sound.
Edit: As a test, I downloaded the Carnivores demo from 3D Gamers and it works 100%. So either they degraded the game's compatibility from demo to full game, or the copy on here is missing something.
No sound in Carnivores

I don't see any controls for sound. The Options screen has sections for changing the controls, adjusting some of the game parameters and setting the video options. I don't see anything related to sound at all. Also, the developer's page says that it might have problems with one particular sound card, but that other than that, there are no sound issues that they're aware of.3DShootMaster wrote:In the main menu, nothing changes if you go to the controls and activate sound over there? Try some, sound off restart sound on, sound on restart and play, just play a little in the controls...
