The main page claims that the adventure game Nightfall would be the first real time 3D first-person adventure and the page for that game repeats this error, because this is definitly not true!
The first game in this regard was actually "Under A Killing Moon" from Access Software:

This was a game which was groundbreaking in several other aspects as well, e.g. it should be also one of the first adventure games with FMV scenes and real actors.
The first real time 3D first-person adventure

Hmm interesting, I seem to recall some 3D-ish part of the game Heart of China, in which you got to drive a tank.
By no means the perspective of the whole game, just a tiny fragment of it. Predates UAKM though (2001), but the graphics aren't that 'realistic' anyway.

There you go. It's all a matter of definitions, and "real time 3D first-person adventure" generally still is too broad to be deterministic.hfric wrote:and i remember the first 3d adventure game was from 1988 named "Total Eclipse"

Defining "real time" and "3D" would go a long way.

Yes, it is a nice 3D game, but it is not an adventure, more of a puzzle/action game.hfric wrote:and i remember the first 3d adventure game was from 1988 named "Total Eclipse"

Here is a nice modern remake:

@InsaneFury: Yes, some people - especially the ones who mainly play shooters or action game - use the term "Adventure" very broadly (e.g. for 3D-Jump&Run games like Tomb Raider) - but the adventure community has general definitions for this genre, and "Total Eclipse" doesn't really fit it.
Anyway, even so "Total Eclipse" wouldn't be the first of it's kind. I still remember Mercenary from 1985 (and there were probably others before):

But still the first real adventure game with 3D graphics from a First Person Perspective, that I know, would be "Under a Killing Moon".
