[SOLVED] Virtua Fighter PC no music

Post by skwatter »

OK! Finally I have figured this whole thing out.

NeoRAGERx told me to burn the Images to a disc and play them off my actual CD drive. At first this didn't work. I was burning the images with Nero, and for some reason Nero doesn't burn the music data to the disc properly.

I tried using Alcohol 120% to burn the exact same images just earlier today, fired them up and guess what? IT WORKS PERFECTLY!

The above solution worked perfectly for both Virtua Fighter PC and Shadows of the Empire.

If anyone has trouble like this with their games, look no further.

Alcohol 120% shows you the tracks that are being burned to the CD. It shows both the data and the music tracks and burns them perfectly.

That's the end of this thread!!

Apparently you have a version with the audio ripped out. You can download here the original version including the music.

This is exactly where I got the game I'm talking about.
The game installs, but there is no music.
I tried downloading the separate music file, but didn't know what to do with the mp3 files. how do I get them to play during the game?

Do you have the image mounted while you playing?
If yes then propably there's incompatibility with the windows you're using.
I haven't tried this game yet but i can see it has the audio intergrated with the image. Maby someone else knows more..

If the game is from 1996 there is a possibility that it requires to play real CD-Audio-Tracks.
In my opinion you should burn a mixed-mode-CD with the original game data and the MP3-files as audio tracks.

Thanks for the help, guys.
Yes, I have the image mounted while playing.
Maybe I could try it in a win 98 virtual PC.
How would I go about burning a mixed mode CD?

Thanks!!

The drive I installed the game from is a virtual one on daemon tools. My real cd-rom drive is E: while the virtual one is J:

Should I burn the image onto a disc, then try running it again?

Yes, the drive does have cd digital audio already selected.

I tried playing the upload of Star Wars - Shadows of the Empire, and no music at the menus or game play, either.

Any help?

I don't know if this will help but is the audio cable connected to the dvd drive and the audio connector on the soundcard or motherboard?
