https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y5DrVhn2LQhttps://www.discogs.com/Richard-Jacques ... se/1112399Disc 2 (first instalment) is the among the most awesome things my ears have ever heard in me gaming history (as in, almost every track of the score overall), making disc 1 (the sequel) feel like a let-down afterwards (the game itself was an improvement, but felt it had less hooks than its predecessor, thus having barely enough willpower to complete it, unlike the former which was more fun)
Of course, other OSTs certainly had its shining moments; me fancy is mostly '80s and '90s arcades (like stuff by Sega, Namco, Data East and CAPCOM's CPS-1, and by extent, some X68000 as well), with some home titles being huge standouts (Max Payne(s), Hitman(s, pre-Absolution), Shenmue(s), Syphon Filter(s, PS1), Resident Evil(s, PS1), MGS4, other series etc) - but as a whole hardly anything tops the disc above IMO
As for modern scores, can't remember anything having attracted my attention (since I usually also can't remember what I've played, let alone listened to, of any notable mention; maybe it's their greater forgetfulness and/or lack of innovation and/or hooks but it's gotta be something, dunno what tho)
