I got it running using one of the 3dfx glide wrappers, I forgot which already though...
dgVoodoo. extract files to Quake 3 dir, run dgVoodooSetup.exe and set to windowed, run quake3.exe.
Or delete the gl files from the dir like Narfous says below:
GLU32.dll GLUT32.dll opengl32.dll voodoogl.dll

You don't need a glide wrapper. Just remove the OPENGL dlls from the ihv test folder.
Also STAY AWAY from glsetup, the drivers it instlals is outdated and it was originally made for stupid people who keep spamming id software that it doesn't work on their glide 2.x 1997 driver for their voodoo rush.
No one seemed to mention this (or the prior link is down), so here is a working link for Quake I pre-alpha test. As far as I know, its exclusively a multiplayer build.
More importantly does anyone know anything about a Hexen 2 pre-alpha build. It has been definitely leaked to the public in the late 1990s and was floating about on the internet, but I have never seen it. Can someone help, or is it lost forever????
it exists, and several raven fan faqs mention it as being totally forbidden
let's hope it's not lost. There's also a leaked Elite Force beta which has funny voiceacting from the raven team and better player pain sounds, but I probably already mentioned that before
For the list there is also the Hired Guns 2 Beta in the year 2000, a cancelled game sequel of the game for the Amiga. Also there was a Hexen 1 Beta in 1996, it was like a 95% finished product i guess. I hope this info can be helpful.
Where could I get the Quake III Arena IHV Leak? I'm a fan of ID Software! And I've been dying to play the Quake III Arena Test very badly! Can someone please tell me where to get It?
There's also a unmodified Wolf3D alpha floating out there somewhere. it's a shame the modified one is the most circulated version and as we all know, modifying alphas/betas completely destroys the fun of playing them as they were. Purism is a big force behind the driving point of playing old game alpha/betas. (not so much for new games these days, 'beta' is just a keyword to getting a new free game early for many young ones and they won't even care for the differences with the final.)
