AssaultCube (ActionCube) Rabid Viper Productions / AssaultCube Reloaded Task Force 2006

AssaultCube is a total conversion of Wouter van Oortmerssen's FPS called Cube. Set in a realistic looking environment, as far as that's possible with this engine, while gameplay stays fast and arcade. This game is all about team oriented multiplayer fun. It has low latency, it can even run across a 56Kbps connection. Lightweight size, only 40MB to download, plus additional maps average 20KB each. With the correct settings, it can run on old hardware (Pentium III and above). Has a built in, in-game map editor to help players create their own maps and allows for co-operative editmode in realtime with others. It features a single-player bot system. and supports recording of your game by the "demo" system. Contains 12 multiplayer game modes, including: Deathmatch, Survivor, Capture the Flag, Hunt the Flag, Keep the Flag, Pistol Frenzy, Last Swiss Standing & One-Shot One-Kill (plus team versions of these modes). Comes pre-packaged with 26 different maps. In 2010, a revised version was released AssaultCube Reloaded - a free-and-open-source first-person-shooter aimed at improving its predecessor, AssaultCube. This game combines the best of all worlds. Realism from Battlefield, anti-cheat from the Quake engine, perks from Call of Duty, and fast-paced gameplay with a low system footprint from AssaultCube. It added ricochet shots (bouncing bullets), basic anti-cheat (ones that result in no false positives), more new and different weapons, damage fades over distance, new & diverse game modes, better voting system (admin votes don't veto directly), improved radar (shows explosions and shotlines), visual obituaries (killfeed - making it easy to see how somebody got killed), spawn enqueue/dequeue (no need to spam the spawn button), and realistic gameplay.
