Avalon Hill, popular publisher of board games, tried its hand at an
FPS game with this mediocre combo of Descent and Quake. You are an
elite fighter pilot selected to test out the new hovercraft LAV-6
SABER. As you complete a training mission for your commanders, suddenly
the enemy attacks and you're on your own. There are "over 200 lines
of spoken dialogue" on the game cd. Unique to the game at the time was
the ability to "hop" around levels with limited thruster power. You'll
have to use your thrusters to solve level puzzles (finding ledges and
hopping chasms) and outmaneuver enemies, many of which are armed with t
heir own ballistic and energy weapons. The enemy A.I. is a bit lacklustre. |
