Half Life: Blue Shift | Gearbox / Sierra | 2001

In Blue Shift, the protagonist plays the role of a security guard called Barney Calhoun. The spectacular action starts after the teleporting experiment crashes (with Gordon Freeman known from the original Half-Life). To teleport out of the Black Mesa district together with some scientists, it's necessary to find an energy cell and to fight through familiar areas. Like in Opposing Force, in comparison to the original there are more puzzles to be solved. The high-definition packs enhance the graphical polygons and as such weapons, scientists, enemies are better looking. New weapons or enemies aren't found, so the gameplay isnt going to be that deep. Although Blue Shift is fun to play, what's the reason to release an addon which can be finished within 2 hours?...several released demos have taken longer to play through....and especially since it costs 15EURs, it's too expensive for this short gameplay. But, with this high definition pack the former games Half-Life and Opposing Force gain a great graphical improvement and its worth to play them again. So this addon isn't that bad.
