Starring Mega Man and allies Zero and Axl (introduced in X7 which was
only released in the Far East), the eighth "X" saga is a 3D action-adventure
platformer. It's dominated by 2D platforming stages rendered in 3D (except
for two stages played out in total 3D). Your quest begins with a war-torn
Earth, left in shambles after the fall-out of Sigma's war on the planet.
Humankind, planning a mass exodus to the moon, has been mass-producing
a new generation of robot reploids to start colonizing it. But Sigma
has corrupted their DNA to make them turn on humans. This time, you
and your team-mates must head to the moon for an outer-space mission
of epic proportions to save mankind. There is enhanced tag team action
where you can switch between characters at any time. You have the ability
to use weapons obtained from defeated bosses and collect valuable power-up
chips or "metal" from enemies. There's multiple story endings & hidden
items, and you can complete the stages and sub-quests in any order. |
