Based on an old classic arcade game, NARC has been updated and is a
mission-based 3rd-person action game set against a stylized, modern-day
backdrop of the War on Drugs. Players take on the roles of elite NARC
squad members Marcus Hill (voiced by Bill Bellamy of Fox's Fastlane),
a DEA Agent with a squeaky clean image and Jack Forzenski (portrayed
by Kill Bill's Michael Madsen), a cop on probation and fresh out of
rehab. Together they investigate a new mystery drug that has hit the
streets called liquid soul. In the fight against a powerful international
drug cartel Marcus and Jack will encounter a web of lies, betrayals,
and a cast of underworld characters. Busting criminals is a good way
to increase your score and is critical to solving mission objectives.
You can play as a good NARC or bad NARC. You decide how you want to
accomplish your missions. Pursue illegal deals with drug dealers or
be the law abiding NARC cop. Being a cop in streets riddled with crime,
you're appropriately loaded with powerful weapons including revolvers,
a 100-shot submachine pistol, assault rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers,
rocket launchers and a flamethrower. Fire on the criminals in standard
third-person perspective or use a zoomed-in 3rd person view for a perfect
"limb" shot! Bats, crowbars, knives, axes and other street weapons are
also available. Also there's an intuitive and fun combat system that's
a rough, authentic street-fighting style with big wild punches, head-butts,
knee-strikes, grappling and throwing. The world of NARC is extremely
violent and crime-ridden with drug deals, vandalism, bag-snatching and
car theft. These crimes are not related to your mission, but can help
you earn additional respect if stopped. NARC's plot takes the player
on an action adventure around the globe in pursuit of the evil drug
baron, Mr. Big. Your hunt begins in the USA and continues through Hong
Kong, Eastern Europe and ultimately, Mr. Big's private island. The game was supposed to come out at the same time as consoles versions in 2005, but it disappeared until xmas 2008 where it was released in total discretion. |
