Neocron is the world's first and only MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online
Roleplaying Game) that combines a dense, Cyberpunk atmosphere with the look, feel,
and ease of use of a 3D first-person shooter. Play with (and against) thousands of
players online in the post apocalyptic world of the 28th century. You become a
citizen of one of the last mega cities on Earth (Neocron) and it is up to you whether
you want to experience exciting adventures or just lead a normal life in this virtual
world. The addon Beyond Dome of York adds another city to the gameworld, as well as
the HackNet, a virtual cyberspace world where the physically rather weak Hackers
reign. Other important new features are an updated engine, much improved player
character models, an extended skill system, player shops, customizable player
apartments, new vehicles, monsters and of course lots of new items. Massive warfare
and reckless pollution have brought the life on earth to the brink of extinction.
Neocron - a city surrounded by massive walls and regulated by the strict laws of the
CityAdmin and their Copbots - tries to stay alive in this dying world. Meanwhile, an
old enemy rises again: The almost anarchistic Dome of York, Neocron's opponent in
the Ceres wars, shows up again. Is a new war inevitable? Separated by the vast radiated wastelands between the cities, the players try to build a career in one of the many
industrial and military organizations. There are various player classes offered,
including different types of fighters, PSI powered monks and hackers. The game allows
free exploring of the world, NPC missions or engaging in PvP-combat, using an FPS-like
interface for gameplay and fighting. As of August, 2012 the game was made free-to-play. |
