Playerunknown's Battlegrounds Bluehole, Inc. 2017

This is a last-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback. Starting with nothing, players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a battle to be the lone survivor. This realistic, high tension game is set on a massive 8x8 km island with a level of detail that showcases Unreal Engine 4’s capabilities. PLAYERUNKNOWN aka Brendan Greene, is a pioneer of the Battle Royale genre. As the creator of the Battle Royale game-mode found in the ARMA series and H1Z1: King of the Kill. Greene is co-developing the game with veteran team at Bluehole to create the most diverse and robust Battle Royale experience to date. Everyone's task is to survive as long as possible. At the beginning of each game, players jump out of the plane with a parachute. Depending on the moment of the jump, it lands in another part of the map. Everyone on the map starts without any equipment. You should get them already on the battlefield by searching through various types of abandoned buildings. In addition to weapons and armour, they also include modifications that will give you an advantage over your opponents. Efficient movement around the map is possible thanks to the minimap, which clearly indicates potentially interesting places, such as abandoned settlements. In order to move around the map more efficiently, players have access to a number of different types of vehicles, such as off-road vehicles. It offers multiplayer modes only – up to 100 players can play simultaneously in one match. Nonetheless, one can choose if he wants to enter the battle alone or in a team of two or four. When playing in a team, player’s character does not die upon losing all his health points – he falls to the ground and has to crawl to the nearest ally before a new bar that is activated disappears. A player has a limited amount of time to find someone who will give him a new lease of life. On Oct 10/2019, PUBG Lite, a free-to-play version adapted to lower specification PCs and which has lower hardware requirements was released but shut down on April 29/2021. On Jan 12/2022, the game was made free-to-play.
