Planetside is MMOFPS (Massively Multiplayer Online First
Person Shooter), like Battlefield 1942 or Enemy Territory but you have
to pay a monthly fee. Different vehicles can be used and there are points
of experience. Nevertheless, in contrast to both other games, Planetside
needs patience. As a single combatant one has no chance, in a team one
is only taken up if one has points of experience, or one collects certificates
(mostly experience again in the teams). There are 3 races and 3 continents.
You have to to learn the mission purpose. In each case you must access
to a building (one hacks a control console) and must hold this during
15 minutes. There are also resources named NTU. The combination of action
game and roleplay is not promising, however, the conversion is done well.
The graphics are slow and the servers not the most stable ones. Nevertheless,
to those who find the points of experience in Enemy Territory too little
and who like roleplay and action equally, and have strong hardware as
well as a lot of time and patience, they should give Planetside a try.
In May/2014, the game was made Free To Play. On July 1/2016, the game was shut down. |
