This mediocre Rayman game has him and 3 other characters in a foot race through various levels plus also a combat section in arenas all played in third-person view. In the racing part of the game you have to run 3 obstacle filled laps of a course. You'll have to jump over and around barriers, climb up walls, surf down waterways, and do some fast platform jumping to come in first place. After you run these several times though, there's no excitement left to them. The combat part is also very simplistic with 4 other foes and you have to collect 5 glowing spheres before your opponents. There are various weapons including a flamethrower (!) and ice beam. The game has a multiplayer component in the form of two-player split-screen play and four-player gaming over a LAN. The cartoony graphics are ok but the game shows it was a console port with its clunky interface and controls not really conceived for the pc. Rayman Arena only differs from Rayman M in very minor ways, only edited in the intro movie, load screens, etc. | ||
