After extraterrestrials have stolen your
favorite grown breeding pig, you take the role of the hillbilly brothers
Leonard and Bubba and search for it through the town of Hickston. The
game goes through farms and suburbs and constantly around
you are insects, pigs and chickens, while one argues with the extraterrestrial
- or which way to go. The degree of difficulty is high in parts and
the opponents are tenacious and have impressive fire power. Numerous
gags were inserted but aren't as funny as in Duke Nukem 3D. The same
graphics engine is used. Levels range from trailer parks to chicken processing
plants, and the arsenal of odd weapons include a gun that shoots circular saws,
a TNT crossbow, and even a machine gun bra. There are no first-aid boxes to restore health,
instead to restore your horizontal damage bar you need pork rinds or a bottle of "cheap-ass
whisky " - but if one drinks too much of it, the game gets more difficult,
because the view decreases and the movements (control) becomes more
sluggish. The more food the character eats, the more flatulent he becomes,
making it difficult to sneak up on enemies as the character would move forward
and make a distinct fart sound frequently after eating. The Psychobilly music
from the game is also playable in a standard music CD Player. Under the titles Redneck Rampage - "Possum Bayoo" and "The Early Years" appeared a kind of OEM version in which only the first episode was contained.
