Early Access Release
Tomb Raider has been around for just over 20 years and despite all our great memories of the original trilogy, they haven't exactly held up visually. However, a small group of independent developers has taken on the task of remastering a classic Tomb Raider title. Chief developer Nicobass has been leading a small development team in remastering Tomb Raider II for several years. You can play part of the Great Wall of China level redone in Unreal Engine 4 in the first demo which contains an hour of gameplay. The amount of work put into this is pretty mind-blowing. Some of the lighting effects in that cave sequence look particularly beautiful. After a few minutes of watching it's clear that underneath that new coat of paint is the original Tomb Raider II gameplay, clunky controls and all. |
