Though this anime-inspired game of giant robots and their human pilots uses some nice cel shaded graphics, two-thirds of the game's 13 long levels take place in virtually identical mazelike canyon corridors. Most other environments are blocky characterless industrial landscapes or boring caves. There are 2 types of gamelpay. In the "shoot 'em up" sections, you pilot a mech from a third-person perspective. You navigate a maze and look for and destroy objects to continue to the next boring level. There are 2 (wow) weapons, a gun and a missile launcher and your enemies have no AI that can be seen. Then there are some levels where you play humans and have (gasp) 1 weapon, a pistol, and have to solve some simple adventure elements between the similar fighting in the boring levels. Simply terrible. | ||
