UnderAsh is a shooting game based on true stories of a Palestinian youngster from Jerusalem, and how the burning situation in the occupied territories forced him to grip a stone and defend him self during the first "intifada" uprising from 1989 to 1995. The project was developed between 1999 and 2001 by a team of 5 persons however, the first commercial Arabic game was a success the day it hit the markets. It also includes an episode about a suicide bomber, which has provoked harsh criticism from Israel. A young woman leaves her children with relatives before detonating a grenade amidst a group of Israeli soldiers, who, earlier in the game, had murdered her husband in cold blood. |
