Immune Attack FAS Learning Technologies Program / Molecular Jig Games 2008

Designed, Developed and Evaluated for learning outcomes by the Learning Technologies Program at the Federation of American Scientists. Funded by a major grant from the National Science Foundation. This game was evaluated for its effectiveness in teaching molecular cell biology to 6th - 12th grade students by me, Melanie Stegman, PhD, while I lead the project at the Federation of American Scientists. The evaluation was funded by a major grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases/National (US) Institutes of Health. Navigate a nanobot through a 3D environment of blood vessels and connective tissue in an attempt to save an ailing patient. Teach white blood cells how to hunt and kill bacterial invaders. Learn about the biological processes that enable macrophages and neutrophils to detect and fight infections.
