This installment of the series of action-adventure games focused on the Japanese criminal underworld was first on PS4 in 2016. This is the first time in the series where the director and actor that created movie adaptation of the first Yakuza that was released in 2005, will make a guest appearance in the game. Three years after the events of Yakuza 5, Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima, returns with the dream of living a quiet life. Upon his arrival, he discovers Haruka has been involved in an accident and has slipped into a coma, leaving her young son, Haruto, without care. To protect this child, Kiryu takes Haruto to the last place Haruka was spotted, Onomichi, Hiroshima. There, a new and merciless world of Yakuza awaits the unlikely pair. Who is Haruto’s father and why are the Tojo Clan and Yomei Alliance both after him? With some unlikely friends, Kiryu will have to navigate through the criminal underworld he left behind and fight for the answers to keep the family he loves safe. It features an emotional story that examines the strength of family relationships, and highlights an improved battle systems that seamlessly transitions between battles and between explorable areas. The story once again focuses on the adventures of Kazuma Kiryu who must face new problems related to his long relations with Yakuza. The player will once again meet the well known characters and inhabitants of the fictional entertainment district of Tokyo called Kamurocho which appeared in the previous entries in the saga. As always, the camera presents the action from the back of the protagonist. During the game the player will participate in dozens of melee fights and in many minigames and he will explore the streets and suspicious alleys. He will also complete various quests and missions. The developers expanded the size of the open world and optimized many of its elements, giving greater movement freedom to the player (for example, now it is possible to climb the roofs of the buildings). |
