Due to a certain incident, the Simulacrum-piloting mercenary Sou lost his fighting ability and as a result, his job as well. He returned to his foster father’s home on the island of Wadatsumi, followed by his former partner Yuuri for some reason. Soon after his arrival, he saved a girl who had lost her memories, Tsukuyomi, and she ended up staying at his home. Although there were no decent jobs on the depopulated island, he readily received a work request from a mysterious individual. It was to transfer into the island’s only school Kouka Academy and investigate if its students were involved in the terrorism that has besieged the island. Standing in his way as he set forth to infiltrate the school was the student council president Mao and her Simulacrum. At that moment, a girl who called herself a fairy appeared before him and began to assimilate with his Simulacrum. Compared to previous Baldr games: Weapons are now categorized into different spirits (think DAL) called 兵装少女 (armament girl); Again, MC's Schmicram is the copycat type, similar to Sergei/Tooru/Kou's in terms of design and skills. Some skills look funny now (e.g. barrel attack instead of hammer), while some look more devastating (esp Force Crashes); Aside from the good old Force Crash attacks and Initializer (introduced in BS), they have added a new type of skills called FEI action. It can be attacks, movement (e.g. backstep) or buff skills, which adds more flexibility to the combat system. The only downside is the control since they are triggered by pressing button D (V key by default), which was the dash button in BS. Now you'll have to practice again since they changed the dash key to Spacebar; Lots of explosives across the battlefield, and they deal massive damage if you cause them to explode. This means you'll have to reconsider strategies instead of just spamming combos like before; The setting menu has been redesigned, which some people may find more convenient. |
