Roderick Hero, at your service but, please, call me R. Hero. Everyone else does. This is a Windows version of the 1984 game H.E.R.O. The gameplay remains the same. The main character must enter and descend a mine to find and rescue the trapped miner. To do this, he is equipped with a helicopter backpack, a helmet-mounted laser and a limited supply of dynamite. The encounters include snakes, spiders and other nasties that can kill with a touch but can be killed by the character's laser. Other hazards include water and magma. Power is limited so there can be no delay. A further version was released in 2006 for the Retro Remakes Competition. |
