Earth Breaker Yoshinori Ohashi 2002

This is a side-scrolling shooter game in which you can freely choose the order in which you power up. It's in the style of "Gradius" in which you collect power-up items dropped by enemies to strengthen your ship. When you destroy certain enemies, power-up items appear, and depending on the number of items collected at the time you press the power-up button, you can strengthen your ship's attack method and shield. The story is about using the spaceship "EARTH BREAKER" to defeat the Earthlings who are invading other planets. On the way to Earth, enemy fighter planes form formations and launch wave attacks, and rocket missiles are fired from all directions on the screen, making the enemy's attacks quite intense. The giant bosses that await at the end of each stage range from mechanical types in the form of battleships or satellites to biological weapons. Defeating the boss clears the stage, and the shoot-down rate is displayed and you can move on to the next stage. In addition, your ship has a shield system, and if it hits enemy bullets or meteorites, it will take damage, and if the shield runs out, the game is over. The types of power-ups are displayed in panels at the bottom of the screen, and in the initial state, they are arranged in the following order: speed up, speed down, missile, shot, laser, bit, and shield. For example, the first level of missile power-up allows you to fire one at a time diagonally downward, but in the second level, you can also fire diagonally upward, and if you further strengthen it, you can also fire automatic tracking missiles. However, the panels other than speed up and down are moved to the end of the order when you power up, so it is difficult to use the same type of power-up in succession. Think about the best order of power-ups for you, defeat the evil Earthlings, and restore peace to the universe.
