This shmup was made using Multimedia Fusion 1.5 (build 119). The gameplay is pretty simple, but it's filled with arcade goodness. In the distant future, humans have successfully colonized the planet Mars, and they are attempting to harvest resources deep beneath the planet's surface. However, we are not alone... Recently, a large fleet of alien spaceships has appeared in deep space, and they are making their way toward Mars. Apparently, the aliens also have an interest in the red planet, and they'll stop at nothing until they've killed all the humans and destroyed their mining facilities. Your mission is to guard Mars from the invading aliens by destroying as many of their saucers as possible. Your tank is relatively fast and capable of shooting bolts in rapid succession. It also has the ability to jump and double-jump in order to knock alien saucers out of the sky. You will earn points not only for destroying saucers, but by performing special stunts called Bonuses. The more stylish your moves are, the more points you'll win after the game ends. Mars Defender was originally featured on the V-Cade, but this is touched up a bit and made into a downloadable application. |
