This game is a remake of Alpharoid (or Aroid) originally created in 1980's for the MSX. Except for the graphics the game is as close the original version as released on the MSX Home Computer. "SOS! Centacom! Our central computer has broken down. We will be delivered to the Gentiles. Unless Space Marshall Alpharoid restores law and order." Alpharoid is a combination of horizontal scrolling shooter and a battle bots fighting game. You control Space Marshall Alpharoid and must restore law and order by blasting your way through space and fight head-to-head combat battles with several androids. While blasting your way around in space you'll find pit holes on several locations and entering a pit brings you to an android which must be defeated. Controls: Movement keys are explained at the start of a level. Press M to toggle music on/off, S to toggle sound on/off, P to pause the game, F2 to restart, C to enter a Level Password and Y to change the control type. For your convenience some Game Cheats: Press spacebar in the main window, before you start a game and type aroidskip or aroidlife in the cheatbox. aroidlife gives you unlimited lifes in the game. aroidskip allows you to jump to the end of a space level by pressing x or it will bring you to the end of an underground level and destroy all enemies in it by pressing x. |
