This is the brainchild of French native Nicolas Grevet. Unhappy with the prospect of just releasing another map pack, Nicolas crafted a story around 19 test chambers set in the pre-GlaDOS days of Aperture Science. Put together in a span of only nine months, it is a fine example of the kind of quality tightly focused development with little to no resources can bring about. The product delivers a genuine, challenging experience that doesn’t try and overextend itself. In 2023, Portal: Prelude RTX was released with stunning full ray tracing and high-fidelity assets, the groundbreaking AI-accelerated performance of DLSS 3, and the lowest texture load times with RTX IO. It has: Nineteen challenging new test chambers, many improved from the original mod's release; A total graphical overhaul of the game's lighting and assets, powered by RTX Remix in partnership with NVIDIA; A cast of several fully-voice acted characters compared to the robotic voices of the original. |
