From the makers of Super Crate Box comes this polytheistic, hip-hop gangster inspired first person shooter in the style of the classics. It was made as one of four games exclusively offered as incentive for the Kickstarter Brandon Boyer held for his website on culture and videogames, Venus Patrol. There are a handful of levels to get through, across which you’ll fight a couple of bosses and pick up a shotgun, chaingun and a rocket launcher. You’re encouraged to explore the levels fully to find hidden secrets, as well as speed-run all of the levels too. Doing the former of those actions also unlocks challenge levels, such as the one in which you must run through a corridor of doors filled with monsters, and you can’t take any damage and have limited ammo. On September 1, 2013 on the occasion of Vlambeer's 3rd birthday, this game was made freeware. | ||
