Another Duke 3D Build engine game which is
a rather difficult 3D-shooter. There are diverse missions, and incredibly
a lot of splashing blood and body parts, as well as some puzzles. One
plays as Lo Wang, a master ninja assassin, whose master is murdered and
whom you might avenge.
There are many cool sayings and numerous gags let you know that Duke
Nukem 3D not only provided the engine but counted as a model too. Your
foes are drawn in the Manga style such as mostly quite naked but well
armed women. The Build engine's improvements included introduction of
true room-over-room situations, the use of voxels instead of sprites
for weapons and usable inventory items, transparent water, climbable
ladders, and assorted vehicles to drive (some armed with weapons).
The arsenal of weaponry includes Japanese-themed weapons such as
Shurikens and a Katana. It also includes guns such as Uzis and the
Eraser-inspired railgun. In addition, the head and heart of certain
enemies can be used. It
does not approach the greatness for me of Duke, however
it is still a lot of fun. Disappointingly the game was not a commercial
success and official planned mission packs ended up being cancelled. However, years later,
the work that was done on these extra levels was released as freeware. On May/2013, the main game was released for free on Steam. On July/2013, Shadow Warrior Classic Redux was released including both expansion packs with improved, OpenGL graphics and visuals, remastered audio and modern PC compatibility.
